Poison: A Novel of the Renaissance by Sara Poole (new-to-me author)
In the simmering hot summer of 1492, a monstrous evil is stirring within the Eternal City of Rome. The brutal murder of an alchemist sets off a desperate race to uncover a plot that threatens to end the Renaissance and plunge Europe back into medieval darkness. Determined to avenge the killing of her father, Francesca Giordano defies all convention to claim the position of poisoner serving Cardinal Rodrigo Borgia, head of the most notorious and dangerous family in Italy. She becomes the confidante of Lucrezia Borgia and the lover of Cesare Borgia. At the same time, she is drawn to the young renegade monk who yearns to save her life and her soul. Navigating a web of treachery and deceit, Francesca pursues her father’s killer from the depths of Rome’s Jewish ghetto to the heights of the Vatican itself. In so doing, she sets the stage for the ultimate confrontation with ancient forces that will seek to use her darkest desires to achieve their own catastrophic ends.

I’ve seen this book on several people’s blogs already. It must be really good. I’d be interested to read your review of it later.
Poison looks like a intriguing read hope you enjoy it. I will be looking for your review.
I’m new to blogging and Mailbox Monday.
Holy smokes Francesca involvement with the infamous Borgia family will no doubt lead to some trouble ahead. Borgia were known for their cruelty and history always refers to their nefarious deeds. Love love the cover.
Waiting to hear from you on whether I should step this one up on Wish List.
Thanks for hosting this amazing meme again. Come on by Aisle B tomorrow, I promise to have my Mailbox Monday ready then.
FYI Serving up some tantalizing gellato in honour of your read
We’ll miss your Mailbox Monday!

Thanks for hosting the meme for so long. I look forward to you reviews – you do plan to continue blogging, right?
I will keep blogging but somewhat differently. I know that my blogging will be without any commitments. I thought about giving MM it’s own WP blog but that’s just another commitment so I decided against. While I’ll miss MM I need to let it go.
Poison: A Novel of the Renaissance sounds good, I’d love to read it!
I’m gonna miss your Mailbox Monday!
Thanks so much for hosting this meme, I’ve loved it!! Take care and I hope you’ll continue blogging anyway
My intent is to keep blogging without any commitments.
Poison looks really good! Happy reading!
I’m sad that you’ll no longer be hosting MM, but I’ll still be by to visit!
9 books this week, mostly SF but old and new and a few more of the pulp fiction reprints. For me, quite a week. Full cover scans of all of them.
Poison looks tempting and very intriguing…hope you enjoy it!
Poison sounds like a great read. Sounds like Francesca is getting herself tangled up with some very early Italian Mafia types. If it hasn’t been spoken for via RIF, I’d love a chance. We will miss Mailbox Monday although I’ve not been doing it very regularly, I’ll be sure and drop the story siren’s In My Mailbox soon.
Sad to hear you won’t be hosting Mailbox Monday for long. I’ve really enjoyed playing.
So sorry to see you leaving MM! It has been one of my favorite memes. I bet it was a tough decision for you! Keep Reading!

No new books for me this week but I would LOVE to adopt Poison!
Oh no! How did I miss that? No more Mailbox Monday? I’m so sad! Thanks for hosting it! Would you consider passing the meme on to someone else to host?
You must be a mind reader!
Actually I have an idea very close to that percolating right now. A MM fans post will be coming soon to this blog.
I messed up my link the first time. Oops!
I’m glad that Mailbox Monday will live on!
Hi Maria!
I’d love to host November 2011! Please let me know!
Best,
Holly Tucker
Poison’s cover alone is a tease. Sounds good.
Its all about book covers. Maybe I’ll go back to posting some Cover Attractions again.
