Last Snow by Eric Van Lustbader (new-to-me author/publicist contact)
Jack McClure, Special Advisor and closest friend to the new President of the United States, interprets the world very differently from the rest of us. It’s his greatest liability, and his greatest asset.
An American senator, supposedly on a political trip to the Ukraine, turns up dead on the island of Capri. When the President asks him to find out how and why, Jack sets out from Moscow across Eastern Europe, following a perilous trail of diplomats, criminals, and corrupt politicians. Thrust into the midst of a global jigsaw puzzle, Jack’s unique dyslexic mind allows him to put together the pieces that others can’t even see.
Still unreconciled to the recent death of his daughter and the dissolution of his marriage, Jack takes on a personal mission along with his official one: keeping safe from harm his two unlikely, unexpected, and incompatible companions—Annika Dementieva, a rogue Russian FSB agent, and Alli Carson, the President’s daughter. As he struggles to keep both young women safe and unearth the answers he seeks, hunted by everyone from the Russian mafia to the Ukrainian police to his own NSA, Jack learns just how far up the American and Russian political ladders corruption and treachery has reached.

I haven’t heard much about Last Snow. Hope you enjoy it! Thanks for hosting this meme.
Here’s mine: http://suko95.blogspot.com/2010/02/mailbox-monday.html
I didn’t get much in the mail, but I grabbed up three old paperbacks when someone around the corner from me had a box of free books out on the curb!
I wish I had a blog, just so I could do the linking. I read a fair number of book blogs, but hadn’t seen this up until now. “Last Snow” looks interesting — I like thrillers. I’m a little concerned about how he sees the world differently — just what exactly does that mean?! But I’m going to see if my library has it.
The book that came into my house is The Objective is Happiness a self-help book by self-help expert and communicator par excellance, Thomas Wakefield. (Check out the book’s gorgeous cover!) He lays out a path from self help to understanding the results — he makes it so easy to understand and remember the basics of achievement. Good stuff.
Oh — and I finished “Treasure Hunt,” for something totally different, a mystery type book by John Lescroart.
Hold on “Last Snow” placed. Thanks!
That one sounds great!!! Thanks so much again for hosting this meme!!
Looks like an interesting read. I’ll have to check back for your review!
I think Last Snow sounds good. I have a giveaway for this one going on. Have a great week. I haven’t posted MM in a couple of weeks. But plan too soon.
