Mailbox Monday ~ December 28th

sb10067729n-003
Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week (checked out library books don’t count, eBooks & audio books do). Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

If you’re new to Mailbox Monday welcome! Thank you to everyone who stops by Mailbox Monday. Whether you comment or visit I appreciate your taking the time to drop in.

***
No books in my mailbox this week. But my Santas were very nice this year and my Amazon account is nice and fat. Now I just have to figure out what I really want from my overloaded WL. :-)

***
Again this year I’m supporting Book Wish Foundation’s holiday campaign. For every link to a Mailbox Monday post left here at The Printed Page from now through end of the January I will contribute .50¢ to Book Wish Foundation’s holiday campaign.

Can you help build a refugee camp library? For $2 you can, and you can even turn your donation in honor of someone into a last-minute holiday gift.

Book Wish Foundation’s holiday campaign for 2009 asks book lovers everywhere to contribute one of the 5000 bricks we need to build a library for Darfuri refugees in eastern Chad. Since Dec. 5, we have raised 821 bricks, 16% of our goal. Please join the effort, even with a single brick, by visiting: Library Builder

  • Wow, Marcia, What a great idea about donating to the charity for every Mailbox Monday link. I can’t wait to see what you get with that fat Amazon account! :) I got a ton of books this Christmas. And I even already spent a gift card from the inlaws. I still have a few Barnes & Noble gift cards to go!

I hope you had a great holiday!

  • This is so fabulous. I will definitely join this worthwhile cause. I have read so much about this area of Africa and this is a wonderful mission. Thanks for the link.

  • Elizabeth says:

I only got 1 book this week, and none as gifts. Oh, well! I am definitely going to look into donating a brick. Your generosity is inspiring!

  • Oops! I made a mistake in Mr. Linky — my Mailbox has nothing to do with KIM (too early in the morning for me to be cutting and pasting!)

It sounds like the Santa brigade was very good to use – gift cards are always welcome!

Thanks for sharing the info about Book Wish Foundation; you’re plan for tying donations to comments for the month is very generous.

All the best to you in 2010!

  • Kathy says:

You are one of the most generous bloggers out there, Marcia and I appreciate your support of the Book Wish Foundation.

  • kim says:

Sorry for the two links, but the first one was last week’s. Feel free to delete it.

    Great idea about Book Wish!

  • Here is the link to my mailbox…it was a light week, but these look really good. In fact I already read A Girl in the Lighthouse which had me curious and anxious throughout trying to figure out the dark secret of Lillian’s past. (the girl in the lighthouse)

  • Kristen says:

What a great charity and how appropriate as well! Sounds like Santa was good to you. I got a stack of books myself and a couple of gift cards as well. Can’t wait to see what you get with yours!

  • I’d like to do a summertime fundraiser for the Book Wish folk. Hopefully my real life will calm down a bit and we can focus on putting something together. They’re doing important work.

Here’s my post, as Linky hates me.

  • Crystal says:

That sounds like a wonderful charity – thanks for highlighting it and donating to it. I’m going to check out more about it now. Happy New Year!

  • MarthaE says:

Have fun figuring how to use your credit! The Book Wish donation sounds like a great idea. I will check that too! Have a safe and HAPPY New Year!

  • I’m late with my post because we were traveling yesterday. But I will leave it anyway in the hopes that because my post links to this page, it will count for your Make-a-Wish project. Great idea and very generous of you. Good luck with it!
